Cape Medical Services completes NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment
CMS is pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment. The Assessment is a self-assessment and reporting tool and resulted in us receiving:
Level 1: Publicly committed to net zero carbon and engaged with sustainability.
The information reported through Evergreen is supporting us to understand our alignment with NHS sustainability priorities and identify those areas in which we need to accelerate progress.
The Evergreen Assessment is one of several NHS initiatives designed to support its net zero and wider sustainability objectives. We are delighted to be supporting the NHS to achieve their net zero and
sustainability ambitions, including those set out in the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap
As an SME, although not mandatory, it is essential to work towards producing voluntary reports an implement changes immediately to reduce Carbon Dioxide, GHGs and waste with the ultimate goal of tackling the Climate Change Emergency.
CMS’ Target Net Zero Plan for the Decade Ahead illustrates goals, actions we have taken and steps we plan to take to achieve lower emissions and report duly. By taking action now and reviewing annually, we will contribute to reaching net zero by 2045, aiming along with our NHS clients and colleagues to reach net zero for emissions we control directly by 2040.
The SMART targets we have set and monitor reflect our mission to improve month by month. The marginal gains combined will have a holistic impact that we demonstrate through voluntary reporting from April 2025.
CMS has devised our own expertly planned system to consolidate information, track impact and evaluate outcomes/explore and reduce rate-limiting steps.
Evidence is collected and saved on our Net Zero and Social Value KPI tracking software. We have consulted and adopted strategies from the TCFD framework.
GHG Data is collected for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 where possible. Reasons are supplied if not feasible.
Total C02E Emissions Records for 2024-2025:
47.14 tonnes plus estimated emissions for Scope 2 at 6 tonnes = 53.14 tonnes C02E (Scope 1 = 0, CMS company vehicle is an electric vehicle thereby zero emissions. We do not manufacture).
